Andrew Gault
andrew@gaikai.com
Andrew left his native Scotland in 2000 for a nine month contract in Holland. He’s still there. His professional history includes a little of everything – from wiring racks, through development, to project management – which is just the way he likes it.
At Gaikai, Andrew’s hands have touched most things, with a slight leaning towards the low level code that creates your video stream. He has also been introduced to the wonders of PHP programming, and enjoys forwarding any and every blog post disparaging CSS to Rui.
Before founding Gaikai, when he had a social life, Andrew spent his free time rock climbing and dodging questions about why he hadn’t learned Dutch yet. Now that he works sixteen hours a day, he could answer the questions if only he had the time.

Rui Pereira
rui@gaikai.com
Rui is a self-certified guru that can do a little (or a lot) of just about anything related to computers or technology. He got his M.Eng. in Informatics and Computer Engineering and kick started his career in Portugal with a healthy mix of tech and biz. Since then he moved to the Netherlands, lives a few meters below sea level, and has worked on everything from high-level Enterprise Architecture to Java development.
For him, Gaikai is the fulfillment of a long held vision – everything must be available on the cloud – and games just seemed to be the last frontier. On the technology side he especially likes to focus on your user experience, cooking up mixes of Java, Flex, Javacript and whatever else is needed to ensure it all works smoothly in your browser. His eyes still roll when Andrew shows him a “a memory address of a pointer to a pointer” and he religiously defends his attacks on CSS like a true evangelist. Too much of his time disappears on web design – polishing interfaces and making everything look pretty – but he can’t resist.
When he’s not working he enjoys watching a good movie, playing a game or traveling the world, but since he founded Gaikai he can’t quite recall the last time he did any of these things…
